Roots Reggae Cultural Weekender 2016


 This increasingly popular festival organised is by Operation Sound System and will be held once again in the beautiful walled orchard here on the park on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd July. Day and weekend passes are on sale and there will be a licensed bar on site (only alcohol bought at the bar is allowed into the orchard). Limited camping is also available on a first come, first served basis.

Other attractions and activities include Fire Shows, Stilt Walking, Drum Workshops, Hoola and Stick Spinning (courtesy of Wolf Entertainments), Kittyhoney Caribbean Food, McCarthy Jones Fresh Ground Coffee Stall, Fresh Wood fired Pizzas by Purely Pizza, Decor by Gypsy Carrot Productions, Face Painting by Raveface, Dreadlock Maintainence & Repair Stall plus much more.

This years programme includes top DJ’s on the Saturday and live bands on the Sunday.

Zamaica – Veteran 8 piece act delivering roots reggae/ dub of the highest order. The band recently reformed, ready, reinvigourated & touring again.

The Mamosians – Rapidly rising 7 piece reggae/dub/dancehall act from Manchester delivering deep dubwise uplifting roots reggae music. website here!

Dutty Hands Cranky General – Highly accalimed heavyweight live dub reggae collective outta York.
